My first handwashing demonstration film in Sudan. Taken just before we sat down to a shared breakfast bowl of nourishing “ful” [beans]. I can remember the first time I learnt about the Handwashing Demonstration Tool back in 2018. I was so excited to use it that I ran straight out of the workshop session and asked the first person I saw coming out of a toilet if I could film them washing their hands. They didn’t mind. I often find people are happy to demonstrate their handwashing. I am always looking for opportunities to do it, and it's so easy with the camera on my phone. But do we think the person always washes their hand like this? How about when no one is looking? What do you notice in this example?
