Specifications are part of the contract document documents. However, there are very few examples for humanitarian or development WASH. I am looking into this issue but wold like to hear of any successes - or failures - in using specifications.
IHIP Construction Contract for the humanitarian sector
The humanitarian actors involved in (re)construction projects are harmonizing best practices to have the best construction contract available for the sector. IHIP, the International Humanitarian Infrastructure Platform, did a first step forward proposing harmonized conditions of contract for the WASH and SHELTER sector. Those conditions of particular application for the WASH sector are public since November 2020, the ones for the SHELTER sector since November 2021. They are available for free on www.ihip.earth, and are complementary to the well-known FIDIC short form of contract 1999 edition. This discussion group is created to support adopters of those IHIP conditions of particular applications and collect feedback from the community of users. IHIP will address your issue with the help of the Contract Committee members when needed.
